The face paper is folded around the long edges to reinforce and protect the core. The ends are square cut and finished smooth. Long edges of panels are tapered, allowing joints to be reinforced and concealed with a CGC/Synko® Brand joint treatment system. CGC Sheetrock® Brand Panels Firecode® are available with two core types for standard construction uses.

12.7 mm (1/2″”) and 15.9 mm (5/8″”) Panels: Specially formulated mineral core exceeds ASTM and CSA definition for Type X gypsum board.
